Gifts For Easter
Another holiday gift giving season is upon us. Yup it’s Easter. Maybe “season” is a strong word. Probably more appropriate to say gift giving occasion. Christmas is a gift giving season.
Many people don’t typically think of Easter as a gift giving time. There’s always eggs to boil, decorate and hide, and Easter baskets to find and tons of candy handed out. But how many people actually give and receive gifts for Easter?
When I was a kid we used to get an Easter basket filled with candy and eggs. But we never got an actual gift. Then my own kids came along and they came to be old enough to search for an Easter basket and eggs. Somehow along the way a gift always wound up in the Easter basket. Isn’t it funny how you always want your kids to have a better life than you had. Does giving them gifts make them have a better life? No, not really. But it always made me feel good to see the joy in their face when they’d finally find their Easter baskets and see the gift. Giving gifts for Easter is certainly not as common as giving gifts for Christmas, but it does happen.
Along with children, moms have got to be the most popular person to receive gifts for Easter. Many times it’s a gift of flowers or chocolates. Sometimes it’s jewelry. Many times it’s a custom Easter basket with unique gifts. Could also be a special family portrait or a nice dinner.
So even though it’s not the biggest, Easter is a gift giving occasion.
I plan do research and recommend some gifts for Easter over the coming weeks. I want to find out what’s popular, unique and wanted.
I’m putting a call out to my readers. What types of gifts for Easter, if any, did you receive when you were younger? Do you give gifts for Easter now? What would you recommend as one of the best gifts for Easter? Please contact me through my contact page or just leave a comment to this post. Sometime before Easter I’ll compile all the data and write a post on it.

I don’t give gifts for Easter. I can’t think of any good Easter gift right now but I can think of a bad one – a pet rabbit. Of course, kids like them…, but only for a couple of months. After that everybody gets tired of them, because they were purchased only because of the holiday, and the poor creatures get abandoned.
Good point Lara. I know our local SPCA typically won’t allow people to adopt any animal during Easter and other holidays. Even though they don’t have rabbits, they still don’t allow adoption of cats and dogs because they always end up with the majority of the animals being returned.
